SURFING FLIC AT PANAMA CITY BEACH

TAFF returns to PCB to screen award winning surfing film Promised Land

The Attic Film Fest (TAFF), co-sponsors of last summer’s Christian Music Festival in Panama City Beach, will be screening the TAFF 2012 Best Film Promised Land at Woodlawn Methodist Church in Panama City Beach on Saturday, August 18th at 7:00 PM.

The movie, produced by Walking on Water Films, won several awards at the 2012 Attic Film Fest, including Best Film, Best Documentary, and Audience Favorite. It was largely filmed in Israel, around the growing surf community, and features amongst others ex world champion Tom Curren on his visits to the country. Amidst this seemingly endless battle over land and religion, surfing has emerged as an escape from the controversy. Promised Land is a unique look at this ancient place through the lives of two friends from different faiths, brought together by their love of the oceans that separate them.

TAFF will also be screening another award winning short, called Cabernet, produced by Simple Bulldog Studio in conjunction with Campus Crusade for Christ. Cabernet, winner of the 2012 TAFFY Award, is a light-hearted story of a man who goes to great lengths to cover up his mistakes.
